I already posted about this problem, the stomach noises, but its driving me nuts!!!!!!!!!!! I have tried so many things, no coffee, any type of stomach meds, no meat; I read somewhere about something with peppermints, a no go. I am going to the doctor tomorrow about my stomach but I don’t know how seriously he is going to take something as my stomach won’t shut up! I am getting so nervous about going to school, I have exams next week and a test Friday, and I don’t want to be in a quiet classroom and all of a sudden, for no reason I can find, my stomach starts making noises. During one of my classes today, I had to excuse myself because it was getting bad, then I went home early. I can’t concentrate on any of my work, because the whole time I'm thinking “god please don’t let my stomach make noise!" It’s amazing and sad how something sounding this simple can really mess you up.

So I guess my question is, how do I present this issue to my doctor? Can he even do anything? And once again, if anyone can think of any way whatsoever to make the noises stop, I would really appreciate the information. I WILL DO ANYTHING!

Thanks!

Yea, same problem here. My summer classes are about to begin and im really really scared. I'm going to a motility specialist with this problem (plus other problems) and hopefully he isn't going to laugh at me. Although no matter what I do the noises won't go away, there are a few little things you could do to minimize them. Don't drink anything (especially gaseous beverages) at least one hour before you have to be in a quiet place. Also, take enzymes before your meal. Don't eat big amounts. Thats all for now:(

I know the feeling!! I'm still embarrassed at my age. I'm 42 years old and just started having this problem beginning this past Dec. , the doctor said it was IBS and suggested I watch what I eat (flairs up when I eat pizza, and soda pop now) I never had this problem until I caught a stomach virus from the kids and begin to be under stress from a divorce. So, I try to stay calm, watch what I eat (sometimes) and take malanta after meals. Sometimes it helps and sometimes it doesn't. (at peroid time , it seems to get worse) The doctor did say, stay away from gassy food though, because it makes it worse. (my bf, has similar problems, and is being tested for colon cancer/it runs in his family), so go to a doctor, and make sure of what you have. Its better to know now than to let it go. Don't worry about your questions to the doctor, he's suppose to be there to help us. God bless and Good luck and know you arent' alone!!

Well i did go to the doctor last week and he said it sounded like IBS but he didnt want to label me just yet. He told me to drink lots of water, work out, eat fibers, fruits and vegetables. I told him I already do this, expect the work out, which I am starting on. He just gave me some pain meds for my stomach, which has made everything once! I'm suppose to go back in 3 weeks, but I'm calling tomorrow to get help sooner.
