Every month I get my period on the Thursday morning after stopping my active pills. This past month I recently switched to Lo Ovral pills. I used to be on OrthoTriCyclen LO.

Lo Ovral has a higher dosage of hormones in it than Ortho Lo.
It is Thursday morning, and I don't have my period yet....or even really any PMS symptoms like usual.

Do you think because of the new pill I might miss this period? Or maybe it made my endometrial wall thin or something so there wasn't much buildup?

I AM SO CONFUSED! I only had sex once, on the last day of my active pills (Saturday). With a condom, and that was fine b/c we checked it.

What's going on here!!? Is this normal or has it happened to anyone else?

I have slight cramps on and off like menstrual cramps, and have been moody and eating a bit more...could this just be from switching to a higher dose pill? Ugh.

As long as you've been taking your pills right, I'd say don't worry about it. It's probably due to the switch. Things should smooth out next month.

Don't worry! You're only a few hours late! :) Sometimes your period can just be randomly late by a few hours or even a day or two on the pill, ESPECIALLY when switching. :)

Many, many years ago when I was on the pill I switched and it did the same thing to me. I skipped a whole month.

on and off i will have a slight twinge of crampiness or tightness, and a slight lower back ache..but then it goes away. I have a little discharge on and off that I usually get before my period...its kinda of stringy and white/yellowish. I just want my period so bad.

Another question: If i dont get my period at all, and I am supposed to start my next pack of pills on Sunday.....do I take the first active pill sunday even though I haven't gotten a period? Or wait til I ever get a period then start taking the pills. UGH. this sucks =(

Yep, start a pack on Sunday whether or not you've had your period. I'm sure your period will come, it's probably just delayed because of the pill switch. It could also be that the OTC lo has so little hormone in it, that not enough lining is built up to be shed. Either way, try not to worry. :)

I don't have my period, but..sorry to be gross..when after ii had a bowel movement I noticed a little pinkish mucusy stuff when i wiped....so maybe is this the start of my period?? Is light spotting considered a period or does it have to be full out bleeding.

Oh! Sorry, I thought you switched TO OTC lo. Sorry! Yes, sounds like the pinkish tinged discharge is the start of your period. Since you switched to a pill with more hormone that could also certainly account for the delay. More hormones in the pill might take longer to wear off in your body to allow bleeding. That is, the pill has more hormones, thus making the uterine lining stronger (which is why stronger pills generally have less breakthrough bleeding then low-dose pills do) and so it will take a bit longer for the stronger lining to break down. Make sense? :)

the slight bit of pinkish discharge and blood was only after i went to the bathroom, and it hasn't come back since. Maybe since that's the start of it, it'll get heavier later? I keep checking and there is nothing on the toilet paper . but i feel a little crampy and period like, my lower back also aches. a bit anxious! lol

ooh ps. if this matters..
this month i traveled about 6 hours away, got a cold, and had a pap smear.
all in addition to switching to this new lo ovral pill.
couldnt those also throw off my schedule?
