Greetings Board Members:

I have only posted here a couple of times. I seem to have recurrent upper-gastric issues that are never spot specific nor extremely painful. Basically, I have all the symptoms of a duodenal ulcer, without the ulcer.

All of my symptoms, upper quadrant bloating, churning, internal air-releasing, general malaise and bothersome (but not painful) feelings, are always relieved by eating a meal. I do not get full like some of the other gastritis or ulcer related qualities nor do any of the symptoms wake me up at night.

In the past I was diagnosed with Panic Disorder which seemed to be a result of my stomach issues (going on 10 years now) or the stomach caused the aniexty and panic. While I was on the anti-depressant Serzone for 6 years the stomach symptoms seemed to subside OR made me less aware of them. Have been off those meds now for almost 2 years and am debating trying them again for stomach relief.

It seems that I am oversensitve to my stomach issues, when every doctor I have gone to and all the tests that have been run have indicated nothing. My question is what should I try next? Recently, I have done the Mastica Gum, Prevacid, Primal Defense, Charcol Tabs and a medical food called UltraClear Plus.

Any thoughts on a next step? Should I try to go back on some kind of anti-depressant? I know I have adverse reactions to SSRI's (so Lex and Zoloft are out), it would probably have to be a very low dose of Remeron or something.

Sorry to drag on for all of that, any thoughts would be appreciated.

I'm confused. How did your stomach issues cause Panic Disorder?

The reason I ask is because typically anxiety is the culprit of some stomach problems.

I, like you, have somewhat similiar stomach concerns that no tests or doctors have been able to diagnose. I think, however, that my stomach problems are largely due to anxiety. I believe it's a somewhat unconscious anxiety. Just something to ponder. If I could control my mind, I think most of my stomach problems would subside. I'm not sure what the best remedy is for you, but
I personally take:

Mastic Gum, only 500mg (low dose)
Digestive Enzymes (after each meal)
Caraway/peppermint oil (30 minutes before each meal)
Calcium/Magnesium
Probiotics
Whole leaf Aloe Vera Juice

I've only been consistently taking these for a little over a month and have had some relief.

Any thoughts on a next step? Should I try to go back on some kind of anti-depressant? I know I have adverse reactions to SSRI's (so Lex and Zoloft are out), it would probably have to be a very low dose of Remeron or something.

I don't like the idea of becoming dependent on anti-depressants. Too many side effects. It seems your stomach condition is not severe enough to merit anti-depressants. I would search for a more natural approach. Maybe someone else has some remedy advice. :)

Also, check out this link. It may be of some help. I did find a study addressing dyspepsia.
