It has been almost 2 months since my D&C and they suspected a molar however my tissue just got sent away to a bigger hospital for the final word,So I will have to wait another month to know for sure but they pretty much think so.I heard you should wait a year to try again and my doc says the same however I dont want to wait that long I guess my question is has anybody not waited that long and is there any risk to the baby(thats my main concern).I am already in my 30's and dealing with loss of the baby now I dont want to wait that long too. Also after a molar does it take long for your betas to go back to 0,I had a blood test every week because there slow to go away ,my last count 175 4 days ago I also thought the surgery makes things go back to normal faster.

If you had a D&C two months ago and your HCG levels have not fallen below 5 yet, then you most likely did have a molar (or at least a partial molar) pregnancy. However, if you had a very high amount of HCG in your body at the time of your D&C, it might take that long for it to all leave your body.

In my reasearch, I've learned that it is important for the betas to get back down to below 5 because there is a very small possibility the cells could begin the multiply and actually cause cancer (a very curable form of cancer). Where it might not hurt the baby, it would probably not be safe for YOU to conceive while you still have trophoblastic cells in your uterus becuase if they did become cancerous there would be no way of knowing and no way of treating the cancer without harming a fetus.

I think you could probably convince a doctor to let you start trying again once your HCG levels get down to 0.

I was diagnosed with a molar pregnancy in February. My levels dropped to 0 in 4 weeks. Now I tested every month. My docter is making me wait 6 months just to be sure that no growth comes back. This Friday will be three months since this waiting game started. My doctor said all should be fine, and she has never seen HCG levels rise at this stage in the game. Maybe you could talk to your doctor about this. Good luck and may your future be happy with a baby!

PS: My doctor said a molar pregnancy has a very low ( 1 percent) chance of reoccuring. That should be good news!!!
