Hello Everyone,
I have had kidney stones in the past. The type I have had were the calcium ones. I was told to stay away from foods with calcium. Can anyone on the board post the diet for kidney stones. I have never been to a kidney stone dietician and I would love to get an idea of what I should and shouldn't eat.
Thanks

Hi Mssassy,
It is not the calcium you want to stay away from it is the Oxalates, you have Calcium Oxalate stones.
There are alot of things that you shouldn't eat. Do a search on low oxalate diet and you will find foods that are high in oxalate and low in oxalate, you want to steer clear of high oxalate foods.
Do not starve yourself of calcium foods, eat the recommended calcium a day, especially if you are a woman, we need our calcium for our bones.
If you need help just let me know I can help you with what you may need.
