{removed} A friend of mine said she was on birth control but still has her period...I thought the point of birth control was to stop you from menstruating, therefore you wouldnt have your period? Sorry I'm not too educated on this topic, I'm a guy and was just curious for future reference...

ALL hormonal birth control is 99.9% effective with PERFECT use (Depo Provera is 99.7% effective).
Most women still have periods while using the pill. While the pill can be used to skip periods, it's main action is to inhibit ovulation (the release of an egg), not menstruation.
