As on the FM board, the new board is pretty much empty. Does anyone want to talk?

Linda,
I noticed we have both been bouncing back and forth to both message boards. I was glad to see that I am not the only one taking Ultram. Some of the replies about it surprised me.
I have to say it is one of the better perscriptions I have had. As a NSAID I was on Naproxen and then Relefen and now it is Vioxx. For pain I went from Darvocet to Ultram.

Hi Scooby! Yep, we do seem to keeep bumping into each other on these boards. Yes, it surprised me to read some of the other posts about Ultram. I agree, it is one of the better meds I've tried too. I am allowed to adjust my dosage as needed. When I started taking it I was to take 4 a day. Now as a rule I usually take 2. Sometimes more depending on how I feel. I take the max dose of Relafin everyday. It causes my stomach to act up, so I take Prilosec to counteract that and also for the awful case of acid reflux I have. My doc doesn't like to order narcotics very often, and I've read that supposedly they don't help FM, but I find a lot of relief when I take them. He has given them to me a couple of times. (Vicodin) At least they help me relax enough that my muscles aren't so tight and achy. Have you tried anything that really helped?

Hi you two, and all, I have cfs and I hate it but, I to take ultram and vioxx, Midrin for pain. I found the vioxx does nothing for the pain but great for that time of mo. Take care, Kim

Hi everybody!
From reading your reply I realize I must be having major pain. I am taking at least 5 Ultram a day. I agree about the Vioxx I do not notice a difference in pain or stiffness. I must admit when I had my gallbladder removed in April I felt great for a month afterwards (must be something in the anestesia) As you probably read on the other board I am on a mission to find a new doctor and limited to an Hmo Frustrating would be an understatement.
