I am a 33 year old female.
I started having severe pain in my legs 2 years ago.Not long after the pain started, I found out I was pregnant, the pain lasted about 4 month then died down to a bare minimum, it never went away but became tolerable, I just chalked it up to hormones from pregnancy.
Then, about 6 months ago the pain became severe again, but this time it also affected my arms.
Recently, my doctor diagnosed me with Restless Leg Syndrome, I have done some reading on this and I don't think he is correct. I don't have the "crawling out of my skin" feeling, no numbness or tingling, no jerky movements, and they do not feel better when I get up and move around. The pain in my legs feels like someone is continuously beating them with a sledgehammer, and they give out on me at times. At times the pain is so severe it is crippling.
My arms, on the other hand, from the elbow to the wrist is a constant bad ache with a sharp shooting pain once in a while. My hands and fingers feel like they are being pinched in a vice.
If anyone out there can give me some advice or insight on what is wrong with me, I would greatly appreciate it. I have been in pain far too long and it is only getting worse. Another doctor suggested that it might be CFS, I don't think it is that either. Does anyone else have these symptoms? I just had a bunch of lab work done, waiting for results. I would love to talk with someone with these same symptoms, please reply to the board or e-mail me at CHELBY467@msn.com
Thanks,
Michelle

It's amazing what a wonky thyroid can do. It can start acting up when you are pregnant as it's related to all the other hormones. When you get your test results back, check what your TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone) is. If it is over 2 that may be the problem.

Well, it could also, be fibromyalgia, FMS. Some people go undiagnoise for years or wronly diagnoised. FMS and CFS are basically the same thing. Just a few differences. Have you seen a doc. that specilises in CFS and FMS? If not, maybe you should check it out to. A good site to look up info.for docs. that treat them is listed on the fibro board. It's http://www.co_cure.org/index.htm
I have both CFS and FMS and I got worse after my pregnancies. I lost two out of three in a 5 month period I had an amneo with the first and went septic, septic shock, the second just died at 15 weeks no reason, then had a third that ended a bit early with an emergency c-section and PIH. Good luck in you search and stop into our board here sometime, Kim

Miscarriaage is a symptom of hypothyroidism.
You may want to check the Thyroid Board, too.
