Do a search on gastritis and you can find loads of information. Basically you have inflammation of the stomach if you have gastritis. You can also have duodenitis which is inflammation of the beginning part of the small intestine. Gastrtis can be very painful and hard to deal with. There are meds that help soothe the stomach (carafate to name one) but I didn't receive much relief. Some people have used Mastica and said it helped. Other things I have read that can help are DGL, Neem Tea, Chamomile, Ginger, etc. I think time and paying attention to what I ate (wasn't much) is what helped mine.

Another thing to note is to know what caused the gastritis and to eliminate the casue. If it's alcohol or NSAIDs, you have to quit consuming. If it's stress, you will need learn how to reduce it. If it's Hpulori bacteria, you will need meds. There are other causes and a internet search will help. Good luck!
