I am still waiting to receive an appointment to see someone at the hospital. I have been having symptoms since about July 2000. I have been unable to work for about 3 months now. I have tiredness, sleep disturbance, fast heartbeat, sore throat and general feeling of being unwell. Most of the time it is minimal during the mornings, then creeps up on me during the afternoon. I have to go to bed in the afternoon to allow me to carry on when my son comes home, and then I can relax again when he is in bed. i have had dizziness, but this is under control with strong decongestants. Could I still have CFS, or EBV? any help happily recieved
Thanx

Zarla, Have you researched your symptoms on the web? To start use a search engine like ask jeeves. Have you been to a doc. in the past about all of these symptoms? There are free online docs that can help answer your question. I found them tobe of great use. Hope you can get an apt. soon. Good luck, Kim

Kim, Thanks for your reply. I have visited the MEA website, and also found lots of help about symptoms etc. I have been to my doc. and he is convinced I have ME, but the appointment to try to confirm this is very overdue. I am getting a bit fed up with the waiting now. I have had all the blood tests that he can do, and that has ruled out thyroid etc.
Keep smiling,
Zarla

Zaria, I have CFS and FMS. It's not easy. Betwewen the pain and the fatigue. We have 5 boys but only one left at home. They are 23 to 2. He is the spoiled baby. I hate to see you suffer. I hate to see anyonr suffer. Have you seen a specialist in CFS one that is board certified. It is relativley a new specialty. I have found and so hasd my husband some relief. He is Board cert in CFS, FMS and Infectious disease. We love him. They have some national directory sites there is one or two on the Fybro board. Under cfs/fms told good one. and another some where on the board. Hope it helps a bit. I also get rapid heart beats but not too often. I'm having an echocardiogram soon. The cardiologist said that my dizzyness, shortness of breath, tighting in my chest and pains in my chest are from the trigger points from the fms. Good luck and take good care, Kim

Kim, Thanks for the words of support. I have a docs appointment tomorrow am, and then I shall ask again about the appointment for the hospital. He must be able to do something about hurrying it up. I have just had another difficult weekend, it is so hard when you are used to doing everything in the household, and resting is difficult when the family are all in need. We are going through an adoption process for our son, Ben aged six. I haven't been healthy since he moved in in September, and feel very guilty about this. He however is fine, and settling in. Keep in touch, it is so nice to hear from someone in the same circumstances. Thanks again.
Zarla
