I wonder if anyone could help me. I suffer from the following symptoms and was wondering if it was to do with chronic fatigue syndrome:
- Extreme tiredness and weakness all the time
- Frequent headaches (not serious, just frequent)
- Never feel refreshed after a night's sleep
- Some days I am fine, other days I'm so exhausted I can't leave the house
- Depression
- Extreme anxiety
I'd be grateful to anyone who replies...
Many thanks,
Rachael

Have your thyroid checked. See thyroid board. I'm kind of like a broken record on this thyroid thing but it worked for me.

Hi Rachael. Those are some symptoms of Fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue or numerous other things. Your Doc can rule out some things with blood tests, and then he can decide what you may be suffering from. Good luck! Linda D

Hello Rachael ,
well , having read your list of symptoms it appears that you should definitely be investigated. The headaches, sleep and exhaustion are all CFS symptoms. The tiredness and weakness as well if they is post-exertional would also be CFS related. Have a full neurological assessment I would say.
i have a cfs diagnosis and my symptoms are tremor, exhaustion, fatigue, concentration lack , foggy brain, sleep disruption..
the UK has many leading physicians in neurology so do see one - it would do no harm,
take care now,
Leathan

Unfortunately the only way to diagnose CFS is by first ruling out everything else that it could be.
If all your tests come back negative and they can not find anything else wrong .... then they decide on a CFS diagnosis by process of elimination. Good Luck to you http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif

I agree with Scoobs. I also have cfs but, they have found that I have no detectable cortasol(cortasone)so it maybe caused by that too. Find a doctor who treats CF and FMS. I go to a board certified Infectious diesease, FM and CF specialist. I just found him 2 mos. ago. I would call every Rhumatologist and ID doc. in your area to check and see. Ask alot of q's. make sure the doc. cares about finding out what it is. I have had this many years and no doc, ever ran the tests this one did. Sleep tests, MRI's, blood, well lets say he must find out what is at the root of all of this. Good luck and find a good doc., Kim

Thanks for the replies guys!
I think my problem may be hormonal related - basically I've discovered I'm bursting with energy after ovulation and am completely drained between the end of my period and before ovulation.
I think I'll take those blood tests (have a fear of blood tests - I dread what could be wrong with me and therefore try and put it off as long as possible).
Thanks again everyone.
Best wishes,
Rachael

this is not really a reply. If any one could help i would like to know if i have cronic fatique syndrome. I'm always tired, my body is achey, as if i have the flu, and i've been having alot of headaches lately. Can anyone be of assistance, or do you have any outlooks about the symptoms?

Concerning the CFS, If you seem to be having problems around your menstrual period, have you been checked for anemia? This is just a suggestion, but will give you all those symptoms. Low iron causes your to not be able to be regenerated in your body correctly. I suggest you have a test to check this out with your doc.
