View Full Version : Could this be CFS?

On and off for about a year now, I've been experiencing chills, low grade temp, night sweats, and fatigue. Sometimes, I get a fever blister on my mouth. This has been a pattern I've been following since a bout with what I thought was the flu about a year ago. I've had numerous blood tests, and today was tested for EBV. I will get that one back at the end of the week. Do any of you have these symptoms with CFS? Thanks.

In my opinion a lot of CFS can be attributed to undiagnosed thyroid problems. Low grade temp, chills and fatigue are symptoms of this. (They are symptoms of a lot of other things also. You have to rule everything out first and what you're left with, you have) I get night sweats also but could be attributed to Menopause. How old are you? Check out Mary Shoman's thyroid site on about.com for more information on thyroid.

JB - thanks for responding. I am 44, and I had a hysterectomy 2 years ago, but I am left with one ovary. Also, even though my son is almost 8, I still carry a small bit of breast milk, so last week, my GYN did a prolactin level on me, but it came back normal. He also did a thyroid, and it came back normal. At one time, I was on too much thyroid, and I had night sweats that stopped when they put me on a lower dosage, so I don't think it's thyroid at this point. I am back on antibiotics (which I was trying to avoid), but until they can figure out where the infection is in my body, I have no other choice. I tried garlic and other natural products to fight the infection, but they didn't work. So, for now, I'm still searching. I did have a test for EBV last week. Haven't gotten those results yet.
