I developed mono in Aug of 99...lasted about six months. I am currently awaiting results for the ebv. Im kind of confused...I thought they were basically the same thing?? Can someone explain the difference please....Also does ebv stay life long or how long does it usually go away in? Thanks

PS... Does anyone have a good website about ebv that they are willinjg to share??

THANK!! =)

They are the same thing, except maybe they are testing to see if you still have active EBV titers. Also mono can be caused by cytomegalovirus. But I think they are probably trying to see if yours is still active if you are still having symptoms. Best of luck to you!
