I take niaspan to raise my good clesteral my other is fine the Dr. told me she uped it and now I have been haveing a reaction for a day in a half it's terable exream redness and heat in thoughs places iching headaces disenes anxiaty and i already have pob. with that caouse of my ocd had troble breathing last night in my sleep and felt like my mouth was swelled and dry very thursty and very tierd couldn't stay awake . it scared me I called my Dr. now she wants to lower the dose but to lower it only other day this scares me . and right now still red and sick from it . I'm very worryed about this. :confused:

Regarding the niaspan problem that you have. Right now its 3:35 am central time and I took my niaspan about two hours ago. About 30 minutes ago my skin got hot and started itching and small bump like rash has appeared all over my body. It hurts, burns and itches like hell. I scratched hard to relieve it. That hurts even more. The rash is still there but it seems to be cooling off a little bit and does not itch as much. I am seeing my doctor tomorrow and I dont think I will take this medicine any longer. Its a real pain and I mean that literally.
Good luck with your meds. Maybe you should get off of niaspan too.
