I'm doing some research for my mother - she will be having knee replacement in the coming month on her right leg. She will also then have it on her left leg - however, her doc said that he will have to check with CDC. Why contact the CDC? Well - when she was 8 she had TB in her left ankle. I've been trying to find any info on if this will create a problem with her having the knee replaced in her left leg. Any links or information would be helful!

Hi Wamik,

I've just searched "TB, CDC, knee replacement" and came up with several hundred links to inspect. Here are some suggestions for finding information within them:

If you link to a page that's mostly written in text, then you can use your browser's tools to find the information you're looking for. Go to the top of the browser and select EDIT, then FIND. If you have found a page that's about TB, then search for "knee" and if it's a page about knee replacements, search for "TB".

There are several websites that speak to concerns about TB as it relates to hip and knee replacements, so perhaps you can find something that explains your mother's doctor's concerns.

One other thing -- when you talk to the doctor, please do NOT be afraid to ask the very question you asked us. The doctor is there to serve you -- if you can't get the answers you seek, then don't leave until you do. This is your mother's health you are talking about! Nothing is more important.

Good luck -- and please let us know if you are successful!

Ballet Teach,

I think you've found it since you posted here? I found a post of yours written after you wrote this one. Looks like you might have gotten caught in the uploading of the new site.
