We are using spermicide just untill i get my IUD> anyone ever use this stuff before?????

i used it a few years ago. never had any problems...i just thought it was annoying because the kind i had said to put it in like 15 minutes before you have sex. but other than that all was well. :)

i always used it with a condom, but never on its own. i thought it was ok. the stuff i had, you had to have intercourse within an hour from using it. so sometimes that was a bit awkward.

These days with a new baby and all our sex can be planned pretty easily. It is more like "want to?". sure! i just had a baby and am so scared of getting pregnant again. we can't use condems and i still have to wait a few weeks for the IUD. I just hope this stuff works. I am not a really fertile person to begin with but i would wig out if i got pregnant again right away. I know that nothing is 100% effective but i just hope it does the trick.

I have been using the little sheets lately and it gets kind of goopy when you get done but I think they work pretty well, I definitely would still have him pull out though!!

Spermicide alone is not very effective. You'd be better off pairing it with a diaphragm or also cervical cap since you say you can't use condoms. The sponge is also a good option. The "Today" sponge lasts for 24 hours, and comes with the spermicide already in it. :)

We used a spermacidal suppository and it gave us both quite a lot of burning and irritation, it didn't make for a fun experience. This was just our experience with it however. It was also quite messy I found.

Can i get the sponge at the store or do i need a perscription
