View Full Version : my year

Hi there, wanted to write my account of the past 12 months.
I began to feel tired and ill in June 2000. I had just come back from Borneo, and had a very stressful period at home and work. I really began to feel awful in July 2000, nausia, diarrhoea, foggy head, balance problems, sore throat, aches and very very tired. I had some time off work, and went back for a day and an hour, i couldn't handle any more. I began to rock uncontrollably, back and forth. It was quite dramatic and sometimes it jolted me forward or backwards with such force that it made me stagger to regain balance, and gave my confidence a real knock. It was so embarrassing, I found myself making jokes about being soothing to babies, and being drunk! This is still with me now (June2001) but it is much less severe.
I had blood tests by the doc, nothing found, and he was fine for a while, but as time has worn on he has become less supportive.
I had to try to return to work in March 2001, when the brain fog had cleared a little. It is difficult, but I work with a very good colleague who is quite understanding, and helps out when she can. I have a busy day in a school, and need a rest at lunchtime, which I more often than not am able to take.
I am finding it very hard to do a full week, and sometimes take a day off. I have pain in my back, legs, arms, shoulders and neck. I also have problems with memory, tinnitus, and concentration, also word finding problems. I still do not let it all get me down, and take aconite 30c to take the edge off the depression and moodswings. The rest I can cope with better.
I still haven't seen a specialist, (appointment July2001) and am getting a bit fed up with the system. I am hoping that the school holidays will help me to recoup my energy.
Sorry if this has been boring/useless/whining etc, just very therapeutic to write it all down!
Zarla
