Over a year ago, my Dr. said that I had mono in my past, but it is now dormat. However, I still have reoccuring strep, ear infections, flu like symptoms that come and go every 3 or 4 months. My past also includes a history of pnuemonia, both lung and intestional (which was my last bout 2 years or so ago).

The intestional pneumonia was so bad they didn't know what was wrong with me initially..I had a temp at one point of 106.1, nothing would stop it.

I don't know why I still have the reoccuring symptoms like I do. Does anyone have a clue?

trish, my heart goes out to you. i am only 24 and i have had this for 3 years now. Right now, i have a throat infection with white crap on my tonsils and swollen glands you can literally see. i had shingles 3 months ago, just one thing after another, literally. I am not exaggerating atall. i have been tested for everything under the sun twice and NOTHING, i have been diagnosed with chronic fatigue and i have had the hardest time beleiving in this. i am so sick of being sick, nothing i could come down with would surprise me. take care, lets email each other. it gives me hope to think maybe i am not the only one who is confused here. i have a 4 year old little girl who i feel i am just missing out on. i am in tears right now to think of just how she probably sees me. maybe life will be kinder to us soon. i pray for you. lisa

Hi Caylee

I know just how you feel. I am a solo mother with 2 children. I have had CFS and EBV for over 3 years now. I am trying to hold down a full time job, which is very hard some days. I am going thru a rough patch at the moment, and are feeling very depressed. I thought I was getting better but the last blood test still came back positive. I find it really hard to get on top of things. Ever since my partner walked out 6 months ago, I have had the added stress of finding enough money to keep my house. I know someday I will beat this and feel 100% again, I have to hold onto that though.

Take care.

I believe you would benefit from seeing and endocrinologist or an infectious disease specialist. Write down all your symptoms, illnesses, if possible, and have your previous bloodwork. Tell them you are sick of being tired and tired of being sick and want to improve your quality of life....that you want a complete blood work-up to try to get to the bottom of your symptoms/ilness.

Good luck. (I have a positive or elevated Epstein Barr Virus titer, have had a positive cytomegalovirus (makes you feel the same way according to my rheumatologist, positive ANA, elevated SED rate, a previous positive Rheumatoid factor, and more. I have mixed connective tissue disease, hypothyroidism, hypoglycemia, fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue and depression.

It is of value to know what is wrong so that you won't begin to doubt your sanity or that it is all in your head. Good luck.
