Morning all my hippy friends!!
This board has brought many people together that share a common bond; arthritis. Unfortunately, it not the type of bond that most like to share :) but none the less, we all have this in common.
As most of you know, last August I had my left hip replaced and sometime in the future, not too near I hope :D the right will be replaced also.
This Sunday, May 22nd, I am proud to say that I will be joining thousands of people who also share in this so mis-understood disease. I have joined the Arthritis Foundations's anual Arthritis Walk in New York City. It's a 3 mile walk in New York's Battery Park. My best friend Tina (who has RA and Osteoarthritis) has been a long time "walker" and talked me into it!!
So please keep me in your thoughts Sunday and hopefully Monday I'll be able to get out of bed and post to you all how it went!!!
See you all on the boards!!!

Mrs.Linda, Are you walking the whole three miles on Sunday? It sound like a great thing to do. There are so many people with this problem in all stages of pain. Be sure to share our website with anyone wanting feedback or who could add any info. Is the weather supposed to be nice? I've only been to New York once many years ago when I was still involved in ballet. I spent much time taking and observing classes plus going to as many shows as I could fit in. Still, I feel like I only scatched the surface of that amazing city. Good luck and have a great walk. Please post with all your news....balleteach

Hi balleteach ~ yes I'm going for the whole 3 miles! We're suppose to have a beauty of a day; low 70's and sunshine. :D
There will be all sorts of sponsors at the event and each one has something to do with "Arthritis" in some way. All sorts of samples will be given out (Tylenol, Alleve, Advil) in addition to "goodies". I was told there will even be information on new procedures for Osteoarthritis and new and upcoming treatments. So I'll make sure I grab anything and everything and make a full report. And I'm pre-printing "our site address" for anyone looking for first hand information about replacements or just a place to come and "chat".
Talk to you soon...
