This is the first spring/summer that I've been living on a farm. Moved there from town and think I have developed some allergies. I got some Allegra from PCP and we think I had an allergic reaction to it. He gave me Zyrtec, but I haven't been brave enough to take it for fear of another reaction. Just want to know if this is allergies:

Last night I was out planting in the fields with my husband. Throat started to itch/tickle and slight cough. When I got inside felt like my face was full and woke up this morning with swollen eyes. Advice helpful and should I try the Zyrtec?

I've learned that you have to do the trial and error method when it comes to allergy meds. What might work for me may not work for you. And what has worked in the past for me may no longer work the next allergy season. Very frustrating!

Currently, Zyrtec is the only thing that has helped me. I take it at night because it makes me a little sleepy, but it might work different for you. Good luck with allergy season!

Try the Zyrtec...most people tolerate it well...and the night suggestion is good just in case it does make you drowsy...
