i have a 5 yr old daughter who has always been very outging and otherwise healthy. about a month ago i noticed to small patches of hair missing. not noticeable unless washing her hair.i took her to the doctor and he told me it was alopecia caused from stress. understandable because my boyfriend was murded in january of this year. but i took her back to the doctor for a 2 week check and she had lost 3 pounds. being tiny anyway at 50 pounds she is now at 47 pounds. the doctor does not seem alarmed though i have told him she has been complaining of headaches also. he has not ordered any blood tests.this is really scareing me because my children are never sick can someone help me???

Cant really help with the sympoms other than i have heard of people getting alopecia (and other stuff) from stress!

Trust your maternal instincts and keep a close eye on her, is any thing going on at school? check out with the teacher, tell them any concerns you have too, they may come up with something!

Have some fun (it sounds like you might need it too), go for a walk and a picnic in the park, go swimming or to the cinema. Its a great way to relieve some of the stress you are all under as a family.

God bless
