About 6 years ago, after coming down with a cold, I awoke one morning with an all enveloping pressure like sensation in my head. i had suffered from migraines all my life, but this was an entirely new feeling for me. As time progressed, pressure increased and clouded my mind...i couldnt think or speak clearly. Then the pressure leveled...and i have had it CONSTANTLY ever since. I have had all the tests, (3 mris, 3 cts, (including one of the sinus cavities), eeg, bloodwork, spinal tap) and no problems have been found. I have also tried every med in the book, yet have found no relief. I am desperately trying to figure out what happened to me and looking for some alleviation of the pressure. It drives me insane. Anyone else get this? Could this be a transformed migraine? Anyone speculate about what occurred?

thanks

What type of doctor is treating your migraines? Have you mentioned all of your complaints to your migraine doctor? You would think after 6 years, answers would have been found and/or you would have been referred to a specialist of some kind!

Then it's time (way past the time really) for a 2nd & possibly a 3rd opinion.
If I were in your shoes, I would go see another Neurologist.

I too am suffering from head pressure. My thinking and speech are clouded and it's stressful to be like this. It started about 18months ago with a pressure somewhere way back behind my nose, then became an all over head pressure. I've seen a Neurologist who sent me for an EEG and an ECG but seems to think its not serious due to the length of time I'v had it and because ive had the odd two week spell without it...then it returns. Amitriptyline useless

Seems like your Neurologist is trying to rule out allergies and/or sinus problems.

Is your Neurologist a headache/migraine specialist? If not, you may want to see one. Check your local yellow pages for a headache clinic. That is where the majority of them are.

Good luck!
