hey im wondering what the difference is...is the difference that in bulimia people eat what they want and just throw it up but in anorexia you dont eat at all? but i dont get why facts about bulimia say that bulimics are usually normal or overweight? that doesnt make sense...if you're throwing up what you eat isnt that like not eating at all?

Hi.
Anorexia nervosa is an eating disorder that usually follows the path of self starvation. Anorexia is characterised in the medical DSM-IV by 5 main points:
refusal to maintain body weight
intense fear of weight gain
feeling fat/overweight despite severe weight loss
loss of menstrual periods in girls & women in post-puberty
extreme concerm with body weight & shape

Bulimia nervosa is an illness that has similar traits to anorexia but the disorder itself is different, there are 2 types of bulimia these are: the "purging" & the "non0purging" type. The purging type will binge on food & then use inappropriate methods to get rid of the food, including vomiting or taking overdoses of laxatives diet pills or even enemas.
The non purging type binges on food & then starves themselves for a long period of time in an attempt to loose the weight they put on during the binge eating.

I hope this helps,
Best Wishes,
