My friend has recently been hospitalized with severe gastroparesis. I've been reading a lot about it, but haven't seen anything specific about prognosis. He's 54 and has had juvenile diabetes since the age of 12. He seems to be getting weaker and I wonder if there is hope for him. I'm reluctant to ask his wife about this as I think she may be in denile of sorts.

I'd appreciate any help or hope that you can give me.
