I was watching Inside Edition last night and heard that a new show was going to come out-and that it was about 4 people w/EDs, but the show is supposed to poke fun at EDs. Then they did a poll asking if people thought it was okay to poke fun at EDs....being recovered, I'm not sure what to think.

I love to watch stuff on EDs...I'm definitely going to watch it to see what it's all about...but I hope they don't make us look stupid 'cuz that's gonna piss me off...

I think it's a terrible idea to have a show like that aired. Eating disorders are serious and life threatening and should be treated as such. Anything that pokes fun at them is just going to send a message to people that EDs are all about food/weight and that they're just a phase that eventually goes away. As we all know, they don't just 'go away' and many times it is a life-long struggle. If I were you, I wouldn't watch it. If I watched something like that, I would probably start to minimize my problem, and that can't be a good thing.

i think it is awful! do they have a show that pokes fun at cancer patients? i don't think so!

I just hope that the show isn't triggering for those who are really struggling...

AND I hope it doesn't spread the message that it's cool or something...I'd hate to see more people end up with an ED because it cool, or funny, or whatever...

I saw that too!! I cant believe that this is going to be on the air. I also watch TV shows on ED's. But I cant believe that some people think it is OK to make fun of something that is so sereous.
