Anyone else stick to an extremely rigid and confining list of foods? I'm talking no pizza, no cheeseburgers, no cookies, no ice cream, no chips, and if God forbid something with sugar, bleached flour, corn syrup, hydrogenated oils, or artificial flavor makes its way into your body, you feel that death is imminent!!!??? I tried a little experiment the other day and got a Rita's gelati with sugar free cherry ice...it was very good but after I'd finished, the guilt and fear was unbearable! I could just imagine the ice cream clogging up my arteries and the sugar putting on pounds by the minute. I ended up getting chest pain which I blamed on the sugar but it could've been anxiety. My sister is the complete opposite and will eat Tastycakes and bagels without a second thought!! How can people do that??? ::shudder::

No, but I am obsessed with what I eat, in fear of getting sick. I don't want to eat too much. I always check the date to make sure it's not expired. I don't want to eat too fast. If someone is angry with me and hands me food I fear that they've poisoned it and I almost refuse. It's troubling because I never worried about these things before and I was fine.

Hi,
I have a very limited list of things that I eat now, but in the past few months I've been working on expanding the list again. Right now, I pretty much eat only non-fat and low-calorie foods and the things I do eat, I eat at very specific times of the day (snack is always at 3pm, etc.). I was able to get to a very low weight from these foods, so I feel if I slip just a tiny bit, I'll lose complete control and eat everything in sight. I started feeling very tired, looked and felt terrible and realized I have to stop. Only recently, I've started adding one small cup of ice cream per week. I felt terribly guilty about it but my therapist said that yes, I would feel awful about it, but I need to work through those thoughts and face them head-on.
So anyway, hope I didn't ramble on, but I can relate to eating very specific things. I don't think often about artificial colors or things like that, for me, it's anything that will help me stay really skinny.
Good luck to you.
