I started taking Lipitor about five weeks ago after finding out that my LDL was 178 and my HDL was 43. I had my bloodwork done yesterday and found out today that my LDL was 103 and my HDL was 48. Seems like the medicine is working but I am terrified of it. When I go back in three months, I believe I'll ask if I can half the pill, at least give it a try to see what happens. My doctor did mention to me at my first visit that if the initial bloodwork was still showing LDL of 143 that he would put me on the least mg. possible for the pill and that I could cut it in half (twice as much for the price). However, he told me that 178 was too high and to forget that possibility.
Anyway, I'm glad that it worked and am glad that I didn't have to go on a higher dosage!!! :bouncing:

Very glad to hear U got a good report, feels good huh?...... :D
Seeing it dropped in a pretty fast time, looks like U just might beable to lower the dose, which is a good thing. As long as your numbers stay low, being on the least amount possible is always best. Have U also changed your diet and added exercise, that might even get U totally off the pills. Many folks on this board have had good success with diet and exercise, and also some good supplements.
Continued success with your numbers....
