It's called lanugo, and I guess it will only go away when you start eating again. I would just shave it.

Shaving it won't help because they'll appear to come back thicker and darker, and you'll just have to keep shaving your arms to get rid of it. It will go away once you start eating, but mroe importantly when you are at a healthy weight and your body is happy.

whatever happens dont shave it! my friend was anerexic and has them on her face/arms...everywhere really but now she eats properly...they still havent gone. but then she hasnt gained much weight.

well...i guess if u dont want the hairs, thats a reason to try to get better. it will go away once u start eating better and get more meat onto those bones...take me as example. last summer i went swimming with my friends and OMG. my skin was just covered with hairs 2 inches long!! my friends were totally discusted. it was all over my back and arms and ew. well, this year, i went to get ready for tanning in a tanning bed, and i got my close friend to rub the lotion on my back, she sed there were no more hairs and that i was looking so much better and that she never felt all bones. which makes me feel so good. and yah, shaving is a BAD idea. my other friend shaved her arms just for sh**s and giggles when she was younger. well now shes cursed with long black hairy arms...Eek!

The hairs are thre to keep you warm...though, I thought it was light, fuzzy hair...yes, called lanugo. Anyways...I got a good amount of it...and yes, it went away once I got away from being too thin.
