Hi All
Ive bought a neti pot and started using it to irrigate my nose and sinuses. But how do you clean a neti pot? At the moment I just rinse it under the hot tap but Im sure that this isn't good for the long term.

Also, I use lukewarm water from the hot tap when I irrigate but I read of someone using sterile water. What should I use and how do I prepare the water?

Thanks for any replies.

I use hydrogen peroxide to clean out my irrigator. I let it soak for a while then, rinse with water. My instructions said to use diluted bleach, but the fumes would bother my nose, so hydrogen peroxide is better for me.

Thanks. I will get some hydrogen peroxide. That sounds better. How often do you clean it out? Every week? Every time?
Also, can I ask another question - what water do you use to irrigate your nose? Tap water or other water?
Thanks for your help.
Bests wishes

I clean it usually once a week, but if I have an infection, I clean it each time.

Right now I used distilled water, but when I get a reverse osmosis installed, I will use that water. Where I used to live, I used the tap water, but I just do not trust the water in my new town.
