Hi I posted these same questions a few weeks ago but got no responses (wrong board maybe I posted on the bowel disorders?!?!) Anyway I have IBS "C" but these questions I need answers too..
1. When you use the restroom if your stool is broken does it mean that there are more problems then just IBS or is it completely normal??
2. Does the color (not usual color) but like a green or white mean anything is wrong??
3. What is considered to be a normal amount of movements in a day?
Thanks in advance these questions may seem crazy but Ive heard a couple of things and was Justawondering lol

Broken stools can be from a variety of things... If you are pushing it along and stop, and retract your waste can get broken off that way. That's probably what it is.
The color of the stool can vary with what you eat.. It can also be because the food hasn't properly digested and just kinda went right through you.
As far as how many times is normal. They say 1 a day is "normal" but that doesn't make it healthy.
Actually, I would venture to say 2-3 times a day is healthier, and I think thats what everyone is seeking; health.
The thing is, we have this idea that just because the vast majority of the population goes to the br 1X a day, or less, this is what we all should do. It has something to do with the way the American diet consists; all the processed foods, hamburgers, french fries, pops, etc. doesnt give the population the kind of fiber intake we need.
If you are going to the bathroom 3 times a day, I wouldn't be alarmed, in fact I'd actually be glad!
