Chiros can't write prescriptions for anything. IMO they are worthless and prolong most peoples pain. If i were you i'd see my GP and ask for something to help with pain until it either gets better or a more serious problem is identified. Most likley you strained yourself and some rest and stretching will heal you up in no time. If it is a more serious injury, the GP will refer you for tests and to see a back specialist. Until you can get in to see your GP, i'd take advil, it'd an anti-inflamitory and works pretty good on pain. Hang in there and Good luck. :) :)
P.S. Vertabrate and disks are the same thing but don't take a Chiros word that they have herniated. It takes an MRI to tell if disks are herniated.

I would have asked him what the heck he was talking about and then gone to see a DO or an MD.
<<<<Vertabrate and disks are the same thing???????? Since when? Discs are the soft, spongy thingies between the vertebre (sp?) You might want to do a search on this.>>>>>
My husband was told that he had one out of place and it turned out to be two herniated discs with a pinched nerve, heading towards permanant nerve damage, now fused, two level, rods, screws, cages, and bone paste.
Ask for an X-ray and never listen to a Chrio if you think that it is serious.
Try some Liquid Gel Advil, ice, gentle stretches and see if that helps.
take care,
