Is anyone on the birth control pill,Ortho Novum? I was put on this brand a few months ago because I was experiencing break through bleeding and now I always seem to keep a yeast infection, I have had 4 in the past months and sore breasts. I am going to make an appointment with the doctor and get this looked into. Thanks. I just thought it might be the pills cause I had never had a yeast infection, ever until I took these pills.

Most medical professionals believe that the pill does not cause yeast infections, but many women believe differently! Professionals blame reoccuring yeast infections on factors such as food, hygiene, and even sexual intercourse.

Are you sexually active? If so, it might be adventageous to have your partner treated. Do you wear moist underwear (such as a bathing suit) often?

Anyway, this pill (or any pill for that matter) isn't "known" to cause yeast infections.

Oral BCPs have a way of unbalancing the intestinal flora, which can indirectly result in a yeast infection.

The easiest way for him to be treated would be with a prescription for Diflucan, a one-dose pill.

Hi,

I was on Ortho Novum 777 from 1992 to 2003. I never had any problems except a headache once in a while. But everywoman is different. The doctor should be able to figure out if it's the pill that is causing the problem. Good luck.
