I posted a similar question on the Lupus board.

Hello to everyone. My husband who has Lupus deveoped first symptoms the same month that our, then, 15 month old son had a severe speech and developmental regression.(Bad month) I have heard that there are some theories about Autism being autoimmunilogical in nature but cannot find much info about this. Anyone have special knowledge in this area or ideas?

Thanks, Laura

Hi
There is a good book by Stephen B. Edelson M.D. and Deborah Mitchell called What your doctor may not tell you about autoimmune disorders. It is very interesting and sounds creditable. Just last month the CDC (Center for Disease Control) announced a new study they are conducting on autism. Best Wishes! B

Drasdma:

Thank you, I will check that book out! Since my last post, my husband has gotten extremely ill with Lupus affecting his brain aka NP-SLE. As a result he is having, among other very difficult symptoms, extreme sensory difficulties. Just seems like a weird coincidence.

Thank you.
