Hey guys!

I have been trying to vomit less and eat more but I can only manage it if i do lots of exercise. I did two hrs yesterday and 3 hrs of exercise today on top of 5 n half hrs of uni work. Is this excessive??? I don't know anymore.

Also hope this isnt triggering but is this too much food: 3 low fat snack bars, 2 oranges, 2 crackers with low fat cottage cheese, 1 piece of garlic bread, a tiny bit of mince lamb, a fruit smoothie?????

Im so fed up. I want to eat coz im hungry but im too terrified of gaining weight or ending up binging and purging!!!

Plz help!

Thanks

I am in a very similar situation to you at the moment, I would like to say I knew of some advice, but I don't.

Hang in there and stay strong.

When I was deep into the anorexia I was exercising for 4 hrs./day and hardly eating, plus when I would eat too much or the 'wrong' thing I would go back to the gym and purge through exercise. Looking back now, I see that what I was doing was really excessive. I would say your exercising is excessive. Be careful. I completely understand the whole not wanting to gain weight thing. At one time, I really wanted to have children, now I don't because I'm so obsessed with my body and the idea getting fat and not being able to lose it scares the hell out of me. I feel cheated by this disease, it's taken over my life in a big way.

Yes--That is too much exercise. No one should spend more than 1and1/2 hours of exercise a day.You will burn out this way and end up increasing your appetite so much by putting so much demand on the body and set yourself up for a binge. Please slow down to no more than 45 mins of cardio and 30 mins of weights. This should be plenty with a diet that is balanced and around 1600-2000 calories a day. :)

Thanks guys. I think im jus gonna try n eat a bit more today n do a little less exercise n jus take it day by day. I still have periods, not particularly regular but they r still there. Anyway, can the time of the month affect my ED? Its jus the last few days, iv just had the biggest appetite ever but havnt given in n binged but then last night i came on my period n now i dont want to eat. It feels like everything i drink, even water is retained n i look n feel ten times bigger.

when we have our period, we retain water, so yes, we may feel fat and bloated, but that doesnt mean weight gain, dont worry. and with the appetite thing, im not shure becuase i lost my period over a year ago...(scary), and i cant remember if i was always hungry or no..i guess its just naturel, but theres nothing to feel ashamed about. we're human, and we do get hungry...even if we dont like it, food is our friend:) we just have to accept it.

take care hun!
