i'm not sure but i think my eyes are going bad. i'm 17 years old and i've been using the computer an awful lot lately. for the past few months, i've been using it for 4+ hours per day. it used to be only 1-2 hours. right now, i can see everything perfectly fine. there isn't usually any blurryness but sometimes LED lights seem to "glow" a bit more than they used to. Anyhow, i've been having a constant headache for the past two weeks and it's really starting to bug me. on a 1-10 scale, it's usually about a 2 or 3 but somedays it gets up to a 7 or more. is it possible for your eyes to hurt because they're straining to focus? can this be easily corrected by getting glasses? i have an eye doctor appointment set up for June 13th but i don't wanna spend the money if it's probably not my eyes.

I think you are probably going to have to wear glasses or get your prescription changed, if you already do. I'm older than you, but, like you, I've been having alot of eye strain and eye ache. Do your eyes ache, when you are reading and studying, as well? Staring at a computer doesn't help. I'm nearsighted, but I also think I'm becoming farsighted. I've been having "computer eye strain" too. It's common for students to discover they need glasses, in their teens. Definitely get your eyes checked. I'm going to an eye doctor, who is an opthamologist, not an optometrist, next week. An optometrist will only be able to check if you need glasses, but that's at least a starting place. An opthamologist checks the overall health of your eyes. The fact that you are seeing a glow, around LED lights, also indicates the need for glasses. You also might want to wear sunglasses regularly, when you are outside. That helps ease eye strain as well.

You won't know, until you get your eyes checked. I've found, personally, that even a small change in your vision, can cause alot of eye strain. Like I said, my symptoms have been similar to yours, so, that's why I'm going to the doctor next week. I don't know if the sinus headache is causing the problem or the fact that I think I'm now farsighted. See a doctor, to alleviate your anxiety. By your teens, everyone should have there eyes checked, at least once. Lots of people here post about eye strain. When I first got glasses, I didn't even know that I needed them. Then, after putting them on, it was like being in a whole new world. I didn't know things had been that blurry.

hey i got another question. ok so my eyes are hurting now probably due to computer use. if i continue to use the computer a lot, will my eyes continue to get worse, even if i'm wearing glasses?

When I first got glasses, my prescription didn't change for years. Most of us are staring at computer screens these days. If you do need glasses, I don't think your prescription would change for awhile. Get an eye exam. My sister actually started wearing glasses, in her 20s. Ask the doctor the exact same questions you've asked here. Maybe type into your search engine, computer eye strain syndrome and see what it says. See your eye doctor! I am seeing an opthamologist this week.
