Hi. The past few months I have had this strange sensation through my left leg.. a crawling, tingling, constant urge to move and twitch my leg. These symptoms persist during the day especially when sitting and standing. At night, lying in bed, they subside to a degree. Over the past week, the symptoms have doubled, and I have the constant urge to move and twitch and shake my left leg. Lying in bed again, while not curing it completely, relieves a good amount of it.

Just yesterday I found massaging just left of my lower spine, at the top section of the left buttock, relieves alot of the sensation while its happening. Any thoughts on what this could be and ways to go about helping it?

I am a 24 year old male. No health insurance so docs and tests are mostly out of the question. I am in decent shape, but I sit most of the day and play drums full time (which in the past has given my muscle spasms and back problems in my upper back and shoulders, but never my lower back)

any help would be greatly appreciated

I have no personal experience with this, but have heard mention many times of something called Restless Leg Syndrome. You might want to do a ****** search on that and see if your symptoms fit. Good Luck.

Sounds like restless legs syndrome. My mom takes a really inexpensive anti-anxiety med called clonazepam for it. She suffered for years, not anymore.

You take it at bedtime, and your restlessness should disappear.

Thanks for the advice, I had looked into restless leg syndrome and contacted a few people on it, but they all tell me that if its not worse at night and persists during regular daytime activities, that it probably is not RLS. As I said, lying in bed is the time when it is best, and it has yet to disturb my falling asleep. However, if I felt the daytime symptoms at that time, sleep would not be possible, but that is yet to happen.
