Hey!
I am an 22 year old asian female, and over the last few years, I've been having some strange reactions to alcohol.
After drinking vodka or champagne, my face will go bright red, I get hot, my heartbeat increases and I start to feel nauseous. I have been told that this is because of a lower alcohol tolerance that asians have or something like that and to simply avoid alcohol
BUT, I have also discovered that there are some drinks which have absolutely no effect on me, for example baileys. While one shot of vodka will most likely make me throw up, after 4-5 shots of baileys, I'm still fine. I am also able to drink cocktails containing things like baileys, kahlua and frangelico
Does anyone know what it is about these drinks which make me able to drink them? And are there any others which are similar which I would also be able to drink?
Thanks!

Hi, I don't know about the vodka, but wines, including champagne do the same to me.
I have an allergy to sulfites. And although beer also has sulfites, it doesn't bother me.
I just stick with what I know doesn't bother me. But it could be the sulfites, as almost all wines contain them.
