sobs

I am starting to have a new "problem", mostly when I first get up, and after I have brushed my teeth. I do NOT want to swallow the normal saliva in my mouth, because I think it is not good, or not healthy, or has germs.....I don't know. But, spitting for me is also a terrible nasty thing. I've never heard of anyone not wanting to swallow their saliva. Hope some of you can tell me if this is another "norm" for OCD.

I think there is no "norm" in OCD. There is nothing normal about me not having my phone plugged in for weeks at a time because it makes me uncomfortable to have it plugged in case someone hears what I say through the phone even if it is hung up. But also I don't think you are abnormal. It is just whatever your mind focuses on at that moment. OCD is a brain disorder, your brain is missing a crucial ingredient, serotonin. That's what meds are for. It is so hard to focus on the fact that it is a medical problem, but it is. It just takes work and focus and proper meds and nutrition and it can be lessened. It doesn't ever go away, at least not for me but it can be controlled and life gets better and easier. I have no idea if this is helpful to you at all but I wanted you to know you are not alone.
