I have been on at least 10 differnet medicines for sleep, mainly benzos and anti depressants, along with one anti-psycotic and ambien. None of them work that good for more than a few days. My doctor prescribed Lunesta at 2mg, it did not work for me. When I got the doctor to up it to 3mg (the max recommended dosage) it worked put me to sleep with in 45 min. I have noticed I wake up usually after 3-4 hrs to use the restroom , and am able to fall back asleep for another 5-6 hrs, giving me between 8-10 hrs of total sleep. It has not loss its effectivness, as I have been on it now for 2 weeks straight. The medicine works best on a empty stomach, their website even recommends that you don't eat a fatty meal when taking the medicine, also take it with a full cup of water.
