i had the type specific blood test done at 4 weeks after possible exposure....i know 12-16 is to be 100 percent, but is 4 somewhat accurate....they both came back negative....my doc seems to think it is right

Sorry dear, but 4 weeks is not nearly enough. I know the waiting game can be awfull, but you do need to test again at 12-16 weeks, better to wait for those 16 if you can. Your body takes time to build the possible antibodies for hsv, itīs just the way it is. Itīs like with hiv tests, you need to wait those months to have a correct answer.

Hang in there and get tested gain!
