Hey everyone, we were told my husband's case was gone to Atlanta for review..We are from Florida...Why would this be going there? I thought everything was done from the Health determanations office in Fl.Any info would be helpful, also if u do get approved and they give u back pay is it from the date u r disabled of from the date u first apply?Thanks

Hello thats funny i am slao from florida and i was approved,april 28th I called on friday may20th and i was told the same thing. The reason is the back load of people is just to great for them to handle ,So they sent it to atlanta just like your to get wriiten up the its back to FL so the judge can look it over and give his approval then its sent to you. I was told it would take roughly a month to get to me from atlanta hopes this helps. Let me know if you hear or have heard anything as i am waiting also

Hey alfieri, how did u find out u were already approved? just wondering...I wonder if that means if your case goes to Atlanta r u approved? Thanks

Hello, i found out i was approved from my lawyer she called a week before my court date and told me i had gottne a fully favorable ruling.it would go to atranta regardless thats were they are sending there back load it does mean your approved or denied they are just writing uo the decision

ok, now I find out it is in Baltimore not Atlanta...

:wave: ..i went thru this same thing..call your local social security office and they will tell you .mine went into review and the 1-800 number for ssa would not tell me if i was approved.they told me to call my local office and i did.the lady asked my personal info and told me that my case worker was........this person and that i had been approved but it was in review.4 weeks later i checked my bank account and my money was in there from ssa.i did not get a letter until another month later.if you have been given a local worker at your ssa office then you have been approved.my worker told me before it came out of review my monthly payments and in a round about figure of my backpay.if your case is in baltimore that is where they process your payments.good luck and give your local office a call and tell them that you were told you were approved and that you want the status of your case..the people at the 1-800 number dont know to much about your case.local office has all answers....good luck...congrats...

Hello and congratulations on getting approved. I am also from Florida, my husband checked our online bank one morning and my back pay and my first month had been deposited by SS. I called SS and was told yes I was approved. My case was also sent to review after being approved. I received my letter of approval about 6 weeks after the deposits to my account. My attorney, national firm out of St Louis was never notified. I also had a case worker from my local office since the day I applied for SSDI. I also always knew who had my file at any given time and their title and what stage it was in. My attorney was excellent. Good luck to all.

This is our second time applying and we never retained an attorney. When he called the local SS office all they told him was the case was in Baltimore and if approved it would come back to her. I believe it was already approved but she is not telling us until she receives the paperwork. I could be wrong though, when we were denied the first time, we didn't have to go through all of this. Anyways wish him luck.....

hi everyone i am new to this site i am from mississippi i was told by my examiner that i was approved for disabilty but know she says even though i was approved my case was sent to atlanta ga for review i was told this may take up to 30 days this is crazy i filed november 15, 2004 it is now going on june why did they send it there and where does it go from there and when i do recieve my backpay will my childrens back pay be included in that

jackson...the way ssa works is that they dont pay for the first 5 months.your file is in that first 5 months period.if you are approved by the qc board and your file goes to your local ssa office after the 30 days in review you will not get backpay.that is what it looks like to me.mine took almost 30 days in review and i happen to check my bank account one day and my backpay was in there.but i applied almost a year earlier.qc can also over turn the approvel if the examier dont have all ducks in a straight roll on your file.but that percent is very low,but i have seen it happen.qc has the power to change the disability offset date and entitlement date as well.if your children were put on your file when you first applied then yes if approved they will get a porton each month.if you have direct bank draft watch your bank after 3 weeks of it being in qc.if not then you will get either your first check or letter.good luck and call your local ssa office to see who your worker is over your case now.tell them that you were told that you were approved and it is in qc right now.

Our case was picked up for review April 28...So it has been a month,We first filed August of 2004...I hope he hurry's up and gets some kind of response from someone...
