I'm just wondering its probably a stupid question but can you be both near and far sighted? like need glasses for reading and driving and how does it work? I've always thought your either one or the other. Thanks :)

Usually, near-sightedness and far-sightedness are determined by the shape of the eyeball. Near-sighted eyeballs are elongated and far-sighted eyeballs are flattened. So, you could have one eyeball of each type like the previous poster. When people age and need bifocals, it's because the lens loses its flexibility for focusing, so they could be near-sighted but still not be able to see near. T. |
