i was diagnosed with bipolar disorder about a year ago, but the more time passes the more time i am convinced i have an anxiety disorder. I constantly worry and feel sick with irrational thoughts which the doctor takes as "mood swings" I have tried almost 6 different types of antidepressants and none have made any difference. I would really like to breach the subject with my doctor but Im not sure how to go about telling her that i think my problem is to do more with anxiety than depression as she seems convinced i have bipolar disorder. There is another doctor at the practice whom i have seen before, and i am thinking about making an appointment with him to discuss my concerns :( can anyone give me some advice, i would really really appreciate it

Second opinions can only help you, I think...You are the patient, so it is important that the doctor understands what's really going on inside--I don't know how straightforward a person you are, but sometimes you just have to "say it like it is" to the docs so they really get it!!! Hang in there!!! :p

In my opinion, many conditions mimic each other. I have been diagnosed with panic disorder and depression. A lot of the time, I feel bipolar-like, I will feel manic energized, then drop to depression. But I know it is my highs (anxiety) and lows ( depression). But I cannot put myself in a person with bipolar's shoes, to know exactly what they struggle with each day. You know yourself best, be your own advocate! If your symptoms fit more into panic issues, be upfront. Having a correct diagnoses is important. But also give yourself credit for getting thru each day, reguardless of the label of your issue.
