I'd like to know from someone who has GERD.....is it possible, rather than have heartburn often, to have symptoms of a sore throat, kind of like when you swallow you feel like the area is inflamed, while also feeling inflamed to the nose and eye area. I have been experiencing this and wondering if it's GERD/stomach related or something totally different. Thanks for your reply.

HI
The symptoms you describe are typical of lpr, which is to do with acid from the stomach rising to your throat causing the sore throat etc. Typically, people often don't have heartburn with this. Lpr can also irritate the sinuses causing pnd, congestion etc. There were some threads on the gerd board a while back, or have a look on the internet. Its laryngo-pharyngeal-reflux - not at all sure of the spelling here.
