View Full Version : 9 year old starting to have little "accidents"

My nine year old was a little tough to train to not have accidents but she has been doing quite well for the last 2 years. Now she is starting to have an accident but ends up with only a little wetness. She says she no longer feels like she has to go until it is too late. This has been going on for 2 weeks now so I'm getting a little concerned. She's probably just hyperfocusing and not feeling the sensation. Any other ideas?

Could be a bladder infection? Does she have any other symptoms? Ask her what it feels like when she does urinate. There is usually a "sense of urgency". And sometimes a burning sensation. Can also be frequent bathroom trips with very little urine. My daughter describes it as a tickle feeling. A simple urine test can tell you if that is what you are dealing with. Good luck.

She denies the symptoms that you mention but I think that I'll have her checked anyway. Also, she doesn't go to the bathroom frequently. Terry

She prob doesn't have an infection but it couldn't hurt to check. My oldest daughter is 10 and she gets busy, holds it and then just can't make it to the bathroom in time.
Frustrates me to no end. Again, good luck.
