I am assuming that no one has probably heard of this. I am not sure if I have the correct name of this medicine. My uro gynecologist told me that they can wright me a prescription for this or I can buy it over the counter. This is supposed to help with frequent urination.

Do you mean Pyridine? My Dr gave this to me when I had a bladder infection.

It is used as an analgesic for the lower urinary tract. I have had it prescribed in conjuction w/ antibiotics and pain killers for U.T.I and kidney infections. It turns the urine an orange color.

Thanks so much for replying. Does it actually work? My doctor wants to prescribe it for me.

I used that when I had a stent in me. It was used so that I didn't get spasms. It makes your pee an orange color and stains..so be careful.

Really? My doctor wants to prescribe it because I keep having feelings that I have to urinate. If and when I go through emergency room, they always say I have a urinary tract infection and after the culture comes back, they find that I don't. I am soooo confused about what is going on with my body!

Did they give you antibiotics if they tell you you have a UTI?
I guess my situation was completely different, but that's what I was given the pill for.

Yeah, I have an antibiotic currently right now. I am on Cipro. This is my third day and I will be on it for 10 days. Have you ever taken Cipro?

Nope, I've never had to take that.
But I'll just give you a low down of my situation.
About a year ago I fell down the stairs, ever since then I had pain in my lower right back. I never went to the doctor and one night I was at my boyfriend's and I started to have front right pain also. I could barely even move. I felt like crap. So when I came home I went to the doctor. After MANY MANY tests, the found out that my kidney had a blockage in the ureter. They didnt know what it was, a kidney stone, scar tissue, ect. So they went in and put a stent in. After about 4 weeks, I went back in for surgery. They took a camera up me and found that it was scar tissue. They cut it off and put a larger stent in. After so, I found out that I had lost a lot of blood and was now annemic and in the hosptal for a 103.5 fever. Six weeks later, I'm not annemic anymore and my stent was taken out. I feel SO much better with no pain in my lower back or anything. *knocks on wood* I hope I stay feeling this good. But he said I was born with it; and the fall must have made it more apparent.
So thats my story. Sorry so long.

No problem, thanks for responding! My story is totally different. I have been having these problems every since I picked up all this weight I currently have. I have always been a small size but after getting pregnant and having my son, I picked up a lot of weight! Every time I turn around, I get these urgencies to urinate and its a lot. I drink a ton of water but I don't know what's wrong. I am going in to have a cystoscopy done so hopefully they find something to help me out.
