Over the past several months I have been experiencing a dull pain in my left kidney area. The pain occurs only in the morning, and is especially prevelent when I take in deep breaths. Upon urinating, however, the pain is relieved. I make sure to use the bathroom before falling asleep, but this pain persists regardless. No other symptoms have been experienced. Any advice or opinions on what might be causing this, and what should be done? Thanks very much.

It sounds like you might have a kidney infection. Does it hurt to urinate? I would go to the doctors just in case, if the infection gets worse, you will be in much more pain. I hope this helps, and things work out.

agree with Mitch, seems you have kidney or bladder infection. You should meet the doctor for checking that.

I went to the doctor and got tested for an infection, and all came out negative. He said it is no serious problem, yet the pain continues to persist every morning. Any ideas of what this might be as described in the first post? Should I look to a specialist to get this taken care of? Thanks.

I would persist your doctor to run more tests, and if he doesn't think its necessary, i would get a second opinon. I had constant abdomnal pain and I went to the clinic and they said it was nothing, so I went to my doctors, and she said not to worry, but I was very persistent. She orderded an ultrasound, and they found my left kidney enlarged. 2 surgeries later, I am finally feeling better. If it was for me practicaly telling her to do something else, then the problem wouldn't of been solved. I knew there was something wrong with me, but no one not even my family would believe me. If you are experiencing pain, then you should express to your doctor to run more tests. Good luck.

So I my doctor ordered an Ultrasound, and the test came up negative. Yet, I still continue to have very noticable pain in the morning when I wake up in my kidney area and also stomach region. Should I forget about, since every test hasn't revealed a problem, or should I persist, and look into it further? Any ideas on what the cause of this pain is? Thanks.

Ask your doctor about getting an Cat Scan of your stomache w/dye. I am going in tonight to have it done. I haven't really experienced any stomache pain but I have other symptoms they want to check. Also, next week I am having a cystoscopy and they insert a camera inside to take a look at my kidneys. Dont give up!!!!
