Hmmm...exposed but you body fought it off? Sounds strange. You canīt have a "little" of it and then your body will get rid of if. You are either hsv+ or hsv-, simple as that.
Too bad you had to take the Igm test, as they are not as good as the Igg ones. Especially when figuring out your type.
Well, your score of .94 is a bit equivocal. It could go either way from there. The thing is that it sometimes does take a bit of time for the body to build the antibodies, we are all different. Thatīs why itīs said that you should test between 12-16 weeks. You had yours at 12 weeks, but it was equivocal.
Tehy only way you can know for sure is if you test again in some time. And of course if you get very clear symptoms. Iīm sorry to hear that you canīt afford an Igg test. Perhaps in a month or two?
Personally I would want to know for sure, but I do understand your financial problmen too.

IgM are not reliable because they can only tell if you had a recent infection or ob. An IgG or herpes select is the best way to go. These test can run around $100, but it is worth it to give you piece of mind whether you have H or not.

so is it saying i have def. had a reaction to herpes if it was equivocal because i have never experienced it before so this would be the first...or is there a chance i can still be negative

I canīt give you definitive answers on your questions, but the previous poster is right about the Igm pretty much just testing if your exposure was recent. If your 4 week Igm score was well bellow the 12 week one, then it could very well mean you are building the antibodies, but taking a bit of time to do that. Some people do take those 16 weeks, a few even more. Itīs sometimes said that hsv-1 takes longer to build antibodies. It also depends on your body and immune system how quickly it will build an antibody defense.
.94 is not positive, but not negative either. I know youīre really worried and I feel for you. I really hope you can find a way to test again, in a month or so, and with a type specific Igg test.
Please also know that should you be positive that it will not be the end of the world :). But we can go into that part further if you do test positive. The thing to do know is to know for sure, not knowing can be much harder than knowing and starting to deal with it.
Hang in there! Hugs!
