I have been on percocettes since last july almost daily for nerve pain/muscle damahe (myofasciatis) in my back when i was rear ended on the highway. the physiaist (?) wants to get me off the percocettes and now has me on a Lidopatch and neurotonin as well as more trigger point injections. i took one this morning and couldnt go to work because I was sooo spaced out! maybe thats why she said to start it at night! duh! everything i have read on this board has been negative though about the effectiveness and side effects. any suggetsions or feedback appreciated- sara

How much did they start you out with? I think the usual starting dose is 300 milligrams. I also just started Neurontin about a week ago, but my doctor wanted to start with 100 milligrams at a time (at bedtime, first, like you mention because it could make you tired/spacey). After about 3 or 4 days, then he had me go up to 200 milligrams, then add a dose in the morning. I've not had any major spaciness (some, but not anything intolerable).

then as needed during the day. my worry ( as if we dont have enough living in chronic pain!)- is that many others on this board dont feel as if it has helped their pain. so why switch from something (percocettes) that at least alleviates the pain to something that makes one spacey and has side-effects. i really dont have any side effects from the percocettes other than getting a bit tired but at least it is giving me some of my life back. sometimes i fell like a guinea pig!! good luck to you- sara
