Well, I found out on 5-21-05 I have it I am in a lot of pain right now and it hurts to use the bathroom and I am afraid its going to ruin my sex life.I have already told my fiancee he accually went with me to get is checked out and hes being really supportive also but I need to know what I can do to relieve some of this pain espessially when I use the restroom does any one have any advice for me? And my Doctor did put my on a antiviral medication and also a pain pill. I am just really worried, scared and a little sad. Please Help?!
And sorry about the miss spelled words.

No worries. As for going to the bathroom, you have a couple of options. Stick with me, it gets kind of graphic here... when I sit down on the toilet, I push my pants down below my knees, spread my legs as far apart as I can and lean forward like I'm trying to touch my chin to my knee. I know, it sounds odd, but your urine is what is irritating you and causing the pain. So, by spreading yourself apart as much as you can, it lessens the amount of urine that gets on your sores. The second thing (I got this from someone else on here and it helps a lot - thank you to whoever it was!) is you can purchase a small lotion bottle - they usually have these at discount stores in the same place with the travel items - the kind with a pop top that you can squeeze. Fill it with warn or cool water depending on what feels better on your sores (I personally, like cool water) and squirt the water on yourself while you pee and when you finish. Again, I know..it sounds crazy, but it works. It'll dilute the urine and clean you off. Also, this is something else to think about; some women have a discharge when they have an outbreak. This discharge can also cause you pain. The best thing you can do is to keep yourself clean and dry. Some of the other posters on here swear by an olive oil and garlic concoction to ease pain/itching. You can also use tea tree oil but watch out, it stings a little at first but the relief that comes after is worth it.

And it's OK.....I'm still sad about getting this, too. Go do something nice for yourself like getting a manicure or a massage. Just because you have this, doesn't mean that you can't enjoy life. :)

I cut open one of the garlic oil capsules you buy in health stores and apply this to any infected areas. The coating which the oil provides seems to go a little way in acting as a barrier each time you urinate. I find it helps in the healing process too.

I also agree that tea tree is good, but using it at the vaginal area you ought to dilute it first as it can sting like crazy, depending on how delicate the area is where you are applying it to.

I've read about people who have sat in a bath of cool water just to be able to urinate without pain.

I just wanted to say thank you for the ideas, I saw my Dr. again today just to follow up and I explained the same thing him and he pretty much said what you guys just said and at the time I posted the thread I suspected and the Dr. also did. Well, I got the results back today and it was 99.9% positive. Well, I have to go, I just wanted to say thanks

Just want to add, get a spray bottle filled with water. When you go to the bathroom, spray the water down there as much as you can. It REALLY helped with me.

Just wanted to add.....Not so much - when I'm using the restroom, but more when I'm feeling the tingles/twinges, down below. I keep a spray bottle filled with hydrogen peroxide and blast my lower region, whenever, I feel anything out of the ordinary....It really makes it feel soooooo much better.
Just, thought, I would share.....-ShinyOrn

The garlic oil you can make at home is very inexpensive and easy. Get a head of garlic from the produce section of the grocery store and some extra virgin olive oil (you only need a little.) Peel and cut one of the garlic cloves (that's one of the sections of the head) into four pieces. Put it in a very small container with a lid that fits well. Then pour olive oil over it. After letting it sit for 2 hours you can start using it. Keep it in your bathroom near some q-tips. Apply it gently however often you want. It is very soothing.

Hi there there first time I had an OB, it felt like a hot coal was coming down my urethra. I started taking garlic and Oregano pills and the burning sensation when away about a day later. Try it. Oregano pills are great to keep viruses at bay. Don't lose your mind over. It will be over soon. then you will be able to have a normal sex life. I used to thing that way long ago. Now, I don't even know what an OB is like. It has been so long. Use garlic, oregano pills and Liquid stabilized Oxygen. It will help a lot.

Got a ? for you....regarding this stabilized liquid oxygen, is it a liquid that you put drops of it into water??? How often do you do this and how does it work?? Please explain, in detail. I've recently received some along with DMSO, but of which I haven't tried yet, I guess out of fear....While reading the oxygen stuff, it says that it's more effective, when used after your colon has been cleansed. I stopped @ the vitamin shop yesterday and purchased the colon cleanser, but now I'm afraid to start it for fear of "running to the bathroom", from first dosing and thru the next 2 weeks....AudreyB - was talking of trying this a few posts back and I'm wondering if it works....Any info, you have, can you please share it with me! It seems the more I read, purchase, and intend to start, the fear of it all becomes stronger and now, I'm at a loss....Help, -ShinyOrnament

Hi Shiny.....yes i was going to do one of those detox programs, but after visiting a naturopath/iridologist she advised caution on doing detoxes. She said not all detoxes were good for everybody and it depends on your health and your individual situation. Apparently i have a "pocket" somewhere along my intestine and this is when a bit of your intestine stretches and the elasticity has gone and it cant get back into shape and you are left with a pocket effect. Food gets in there and it can then cause other problems. I think this occured some years back when i went through a period of major irritable bowel.

Anyway, she advised me to go on a gentle detox, meaning eating lots of soups with lots of vegetables and legumes etc in it. Eating lots of fruit and drinking juices. She also gave me a concoction of herbs with which she made a tonic especially for my needs and she also believes that taking astralagus is very beneficial to your immune system. I eat fairly healthy anyway, but with the liquid herbs she gave me i dont seem to feel bloated after meals and generally feel better.

I did have an ob nearly two months ago at my genital area (every other time it was at the anal area) and this had me worried, thinking 'oh no, now they've migrated to a new spot', but then the ob did flare up after some intense errrrrrm love making sessions during a weekend away :o , but we had another very intense day a week ago and no ob's at all. So i dont know what happened to cause the ob, but that has been my only ob this entire year. So i guess i can't complain, but it was the first time i've been able to experience getting an ob in that area, which is where most of the females on this board seem to get them. I was very run down at the time, so i'd say that was why i got it. I used the garlic oil from my garlic capsules and it eased the pain. I also used a tea trea cream specifically made to sooth any burning/itching/irritation of the vaginal/anal area.

I'm still taking my garlic capsules daily and when i feel run down i take a multivitamin tablet daily till i'm feeling better again. I'm also taking the astralagus liquid. I have pretty much accepted this now and i have stopped allowing it to rule my life.

Put some tea tree oil on them. It's going to hurt, but you will fill better afterwards.
